Campbellville, ON — Thestable.ca, the new fractional ownership site that allows horse owners to buy into 2-year-olds in training, has announced a $10,000 Fantasy Stable contest using horses on its roster.

Entrants in the free contest, open now through June 25, will choose four horses from the list of active horses currently on the stable’s roster. Starting July 1, each dollar earned by horses in each entrant’s stable will be given one point. The top 25 fantasy stables will be posted on Thestable.ca and updated daily.

On Oct. 28, the points will be tallied and the winning stable will win $6,000, with second place winning $3,000 and third place winning $1,000. The winners will be announced during the Breeders Crown program on Oct. 28 at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, N.J.

“Fantasy sports are on the rise all over the world,” said Anthony MacDonald, founder of Thestable.ca. “DraftKings, Yahoo Sports, Fan Duel and many others have changed the way people partake in the actual sports experience.

“Horse racing is an interesting sport and thestable.ca plans on showing the world how interesting it really is.”

In the case of a tie, the entrant who most closely predicts the total earnings of all the horses in Thestable.ca will be declared the winner.

The Fantasy Stable draft has received support from entities throughout the harness racing industry, MacDonald added.

“The Meadowlands, Woodbine Entertainment Group, Blue Chip Farms, and Diamond Creek Farms understand the importance of growing horse racing’s fan base, and have put a significant amount of money on the line to fund this fantasy stable competition,” he said.

MacDonald said he is excited that the contest will be a success.

“Nothing brings people together like free money,” he said. “And this is the tip of the iceberg for thestable.ca.

“Tell your friends and your family. Or try to keep it to yourself — but we won’t!”
