Gary Bryant, 67, dies

Columbus, OH — Gary Wayne Bryant, 67, of Vernon, N.Y., died after a brief illness on Sept. 28, 2019, surrounded by close family.

Mr. Bryant was born June 30, 1952, in Charlottesville, Va., to the late Arthur and Elsie Bryant. He was a lifelong trainer of Standardbreds and lover of animals.

He enjoyed the outdoors, finding as much time as he could for hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, and during football season could always be found cheering on his favorite team, the New England Patriots. He was always there to help a friend or someone in need.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his sons, Gary Wayne Jr. and Derek Therrien-Bryant; daughter, Kristina Rimel; mother, Elsie; brother, David; sisters, Sharon Flores, Karen and Amy; as well as a loving extended family.

The family will greet friends from 1–3 p.m. at Malecki’s Funeral Home, 23 Front St., Vernon, N.Y. on Sunday (Oct. 6).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, 42 Arneytown-Hornerstown Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514.
