Columbus, OH — According to harnessracing.com Mary Lou Dondarski, the longtime office manager at The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown, died early Thursday morning (Nov. 8). She was 74.

In 2006, Ms. Dondarski received the Unsung Hero Award from the U.S. Harness Writers Association (USHWA) for her behind-the-scenes role at the Hambletonian Society. She was also recognized by USHWA in 2013 with a President’s Award from then-USHWA president Steve Wolf.

USHWA would like to note that in addition to her 2006 Unsung Hero Award and her 2013 President’s Award, Dondarski was voted an Honorary Member of USHWA in 2014-an honor that had not bestowed on anyone in the previous dozen years.
