Hannah Miller back in the winner’s circle at the Big M

East Rutherford, NJ – On a cold evening at the Meadowlands on Friday night (Nov. 8), 10 pacers came calling in the first race on the card, and while speed was a factor, it was not a winning one on this night.

Rookie Samuel King guided his pacer Real Kid to the lead in sensible fractions of :27.3, :56.2, 1:25, but wasn’t able to sustain his front-end charge that managed him a second-place finish.  That was because former Amateur of the Year Hannah Miller, driving I’m An Athlete, closed from way back to win by just 1-1/2 lengths in a mile that was timed in 1:54.4.  King held second and longshot Make It Big, driven by veteran reinsman Bob Davis, finished third.

The 9-year-old gelding by Art Major is owned by Ronald Rettig-Zucchi and trained by Michael Cruse.

The fourth leg will take place next weekend at the Big M with post time scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
