Ft. Washington, MD — On a night where the Rosecroft faithful were heartened by the return of two of the three injured drivers from Tuesday’s vicious accident, Tony Morgan won three races, while leading driver Justin Vincent scored a double.

Drivers Justin Hite and Billy Carter returned to Rosecroft after Tuesday’s accident and while neither was able to drive everyone enjoyed being able to meet and greet them and verify that while worse for wear, they will be back in the bike sometime this summer. Donnie Russell, the third injured driver, wasn’t able to get to Rosecroft but has been released from the hospital and is rumored to be coming out to Rosecroft one night next week.

On the track veteran Morgan showed the skill that has enabled him to win 14,077 races by winning on the engine in the first race with the Brian Armour trained and reined ABS Speedy Hall in 1:58. This one gave the field the slip on the backside and had enough left to hold off the hard charging Don’t Fence Me (John Wagner) for the win.

Morgan returned to the winner’s circle with Shane Armour’s Ms Ed, who went all the way on the lead and held off the late rush of favored Forbidden Cam (Timmy Offutt) to score in 1:55.1 while paying over $10 for the win.

Morgan teamed up with trainer Clyde Olgesby, Jr. to post a new lifetime mark on Haley And Taylor in 1:54.3. Showing he’s no one trick pony, Morgan expertly worked out a second over trip, pouncing on the tiring leaders on the backside and won comfortably. This one paid $9.80 for the win and triggered an $86 exacta and an $806 trifecta.

Leading driver Justin Vincent showed no ill affects from the accident on Tuesday and recorded a driving double, winning with Kasey E. Bendix and Virginia Marvel’s Speeditup Hanover via a down the road mile in 1:59.4. Jerry Nock conditions the winner.

Vincent returned to the winner’s circle with Tom’s Torpedo in a lifetime mark setting mile of 1:54.1. Tom’s Torpedo made all the fractions and was an easy winner for trainer Roger Hans. Tom Cooke owns and bred the altered son of Cam’s Rocket.

Driver Wayne Long scored a driving double, winning with the 7-year-old mare Art’s Chic for trainer Doug Sweigart and owner David Knee. This one lowered her lifetime mark to 1:57.2 with a powerful front-end score.

Long returned to the winner’s circle with the Audrey Callahan owned Gottaservesomebody, who won his third race of the season and 24th of his career. Alvin Callahan was the trainer of this one, who scored in 1:55.2.

Racing returns to Rosecroft on Tuesday night (May 29) and then the meet will close with a Super Saturday night card.
