Jazmin Arnold wins Billings Trot at Darke County Fair

Greenville, OH — With an incredible comeback after a break at the start, Nono Lindy rallied to score a 2:01 triumph for “Hot-Handed Jazmin” Arnold in a Midwest region Billings trot over the swift double-oval on Wednesday (Aug. 21) at the Darke County (OH) Fair.

Before starting from the two-hole Arnold had to get her trotter back on gait and when she did the talented miss found that Nono Lindy was some 15 lengths behind the leader, Winbak Charles M and driver “Lawbook Larry” Farley, at the first stanza in :29.4 with plenty of ground to make up as the race progressed.

And make up they did.

Arnold got her trotter closer, 6-1/4 lengths behind Farley’s charge at the half in 1:00. Up the backside Nono Lindy began to pick-up horses and got closer to the leader, but was still fourth on the outside at the three-quarters in 1:31.

And in the lane, after a tough journey, Nono Lindy trotted to the lead and hung-on gamely to rebuff a late charge by Massive Storm and driver Gregg “Fast Greggy” Keidel. At the wire the margin of victory was just a nose, and a short one at that. Third place went to He’s On A Mission driven by “Buckeye Kiara” Morgan.

Owned by Terrence Smith and trained by Herman Hagerman, Nono Lindy paid $11.00 for win.
