Last chance to register for USTA’s Standardbred Driving School

Columbus, OH — Come to the USTA Driving School and learn from the professionals how to own, train and drive Standardbreds. The 17th annual edition will be held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, Delaware, Ohio, home of the Little Brown Jug, from June 1-4. Deadline for registration is May 15.

The school begins Wednesday evening (June 1) with a welcoming reception/dinner with special keynote speaker George Teague Jr. Classroom and hands-on instruction will be conducted each day Thursday through Saturday.

All students are eligible to receive a rebate, sponsored by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, when they purchase an Ohio-bred yearling at one of the following sales: Pre-Jug Mixed (Blooded Horse Sale), Ohio Selected Jug Yearling Sale, Buckeye Classic Yearling Sale, Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Standardbred Horse Sale (Harrisburg) or the Fall Speed Sale (Blooded Horse Sale).

Details on other sales incentives for 2016 will be announced at the school.

Join the fun and excitement in this one of a kind opportunity for educational and hands-on experience. Participants must be at least 16 years of age. There is a registration fee of $350.

Ohio residents that register for the upcoming USTA Standardbred Driving School will receive a refund of $175 when they ‘check in’ at the school on June 1, compliments of the OHHA.

Students must provide their own transportation and lodging. Most meals are furnished.
