Lawsuit challenges VLTs at Ohio tracks

Columbus, OH — The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that a lawsuit was filed today that challenges whether video lottery terminals can be added at Ohio’s seven race tracks without a vote of the people.

The suit was field in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas by the group Ohio Roundtable.

In the Dispatch story, Rob Walgate, vice president of the Ohio Roundtable, claims that Gov. John Kasich, former Gov. Ted Strickland and past and current lawmakers violated the state constitution by authorizing video lottery terminals without amending the constitution.
