East Rutherford, NJ – Horsemen are reminded that two short series will be offered this week.

Event 1 is Starter Allowance for horses that have raced in a $12,500 claimer or less in one of their last two starts. The option is also available to go in for the claiming tag if in need a claiming tag. The purse for the leg will be $11,000. Next week’s final will have a purse of $17,500 and $15,000 for the consolation (if entries warrant).

Event 2 is for horses N/W $11,500 (NJSO or N/W L3 $12,500) in Last 5 Starts AE: Winners Base Class N/W $8,000 or less Last Start, TM Rating 87.5 or less, or Starters in a $30,000 claimer or less in one of their Last 2 Starts. As with Event 1, horses may enter for the claiming tag if needed. Horses will race for $17,000 in the leg and $25,000/$20,000 for the final and consolation (if entries warrant).

The entry box closes Tuesday (Jan. 26) at 9 am.

Meadowlands Racetrack plans to write multiple short series throughout 2021 to try and keep the entry box as full as possible and keep the momentum going with the increased handle.
