Millionaire Filibuster Hanover shoots Lightning Lane, wins Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Millionaire Filibuster Hanover poured through the Lightning Lane to capture only his second win this year in Friday’s (Nov. 26) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 conditioned pace.

Although Filibuster Hanover won the 2017 Little Brown Jug and has banked more than $1.87 million, he was making only his sixth start of the year and first since June 19.

But when Ronnie Wrenn Jr. pointed him to the Lightning Lane, the 7-year-old Somebeachsomewhere-Fashion Ecstasy gelding looked plenty sharp, blowing by Carolina Beach to triumph in 1:52.2. The winner’s stablemate, Windsong Leo, rallied for second, giving trainer Ron Burke an exacta sweep, while Carolina Beach saved show.

Elsewhere on Friday’s card, 14-year-old Dream Out Loud N won for the 16th time this year, lifting him into a five-way tie for second-most victories in North American harness racing this year. Three horses are tied atop the leaderboard with 17 wins.

Dave Palone and Wrenn each piloted four winners on the 13-race card while Burke enjoyed a three-bagger.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Tuesday when the program features a $3,352.23 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
