Shakopee, MN — The Minnesota Racing Commission has received 2020 live race day requests from Canterbury Park and Running Aces Casino, Hotel and Racetrack.

Canterbury Park is requesting 65 days of a live mixed meet of Thoroughbred and Quarter horse racing beginning May 15, 2020 and concluding Sept. 12, 2020. Each day’s program will include between eight and 14 races. Post times will be: Friday (July 3) and Saturday (July 4)–4 p.m.; Friday (Sept. 11)–5 p.m.; all other Thursdays and Fridays–6 p.m.; all other Saturdays–5 p.m.; Sundays and Holiday Mondays–12:45 p.m.

Running Aces Casino, Hotel and Racetrack is requesting 55 days of live Standardbred harness racing from May 16, 2020 to Sept. 13, 2020. Each day’s program will include between eight and 12 races. Post times will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with three special Friday programs on July 3, 17 and 31 beginning at 6 p.m.

The Minnesota Racing Commission will hold a public hearing for these requests on Thursday (Dec. 19) at 3:45 p.m. at the Ben Pomeroy Student-Alumni Learning Center, University of Minnesota, 1964 Fitch Avenue, Room 213, St. Paul, Minn.

The Racing Commission will consider these requests at its December full commission meeting which will begin immediately following the public hearing at the same location as listed above.
