Mohawk video: Emma-Jayne Wilson on Racing Under Saddle

by Greg Gangle, WEG Communications

Campbellville, ON — Emma-Jayne Wilson, a Sovereign and Eclipse Award-winning jockey, will join a group of talented riders accompanied by trotters when she lines up behind the gate in a Racing Under Saddle event this Saturday (Sept. 28) at Mohawk.

In 2007, Wilson became the first female rider to win the historic Queen’s Plate when she guided Mike Fox to a memorable victory.

With more than 1,100 career wins to her name as a Thoroughbred jockey, Wilson will be seeking her first score with a Standardbred in Saturday’s exhibition.

The RUS exhibition, a one-mile dash around the Mohawk oval, will take place after Saturday night’s second race, which goes to post at 7:45 p.m. (EDT).

On Tuesday morning, Wilson spoke with WEG’s Communications department about participating in the event. To view the interview, click on the following link.

First post time on Saturday at Mohawk is 7:25 p.m.
