Napolitano scores 7,000th win

Chester, PA — Driver George Napolitano Jr. picked up his 7,000th career win on Wednesday afternoon (July 15) at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The meet’s leading driver captured the milestone in race two, driving 7-year-old gelding Shark Ingested to victory from post one. Napolitano Jr. has over 140 victories for the meet thus far, leading his closest competitor Corey Callahan by more than 30 wins. He has over $1.3 million earned this season at Harrah’s Philadelphia, and a UDRS of .364.

In other news, John Butenschoen trainee Boots N Chains (Andy Miller) was victorious in the featured event, a trot for non-winners of 5 races or $50,000 lifetime. The son of Yankee Glide made every call a winning one, stopping the clock in 1:55.4. It was his fourth career win out of 21 starts for owners Bill Wiswell, Jean Goehlen, and Eugene Shick. He returned $5.40, keying a $11.60 exacta which saw Jimmy Takter trainee Smexi finish second.
