Notice on foal registration papers

Columbus, OH — As foal registrations are processed, the USTA would like to remind members that registration certificates will not be mailed out until the foal has been properly microchipped (or freeze branded) and DNA typed.

If all the proper paperwork is submitted and the foal just needs to be DNA tested and microchipped (or freeze branded), the foal is considered registered, and can be found via the free tattoo search by searching for the foal’s name or registration number. The foal will also be listed under the foal listing for dam and dam breeding report in Pathway. Any foal registrations completed after Dec. 28, 2018 with a request for hard copy papers are currently being sent out.

Please remember that any foal that is registered as Unnamed will have their papers held electronically at the USTA until suitable name choices have been submitted (via mail, fax or e-mail). Likewise, if your submitted name choices are not approved, your foal will be registered as Unnamed with the papers held electronically.

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, if you would like to receive hard copy registration papers, there is a $10 fee for processing and shipping. Foal registrations submitted prior to Jan. 1 with a request for hard copy papers will be mailed out for no charge.
