Plante has triple at Rosecroft Wednesday

Ft. Washington, MD – Roger Plante had three wins Wednesday night (March 20), becoming the sixth driver to amass at least 10 wins so far during the Rosecroft spring meet.

Trotters from the Welty barn, now trained by Kerry Welty, are usually contributors to the Plante win total every meetĀ and last night was no exception. Skyway Raptor had been knocking on the door with three runner-up up finishes in his last six starts. Last night, he caught pacesetter Showyourstripes to pick up his first win of the year.

Stablemate Sum For All latched on to cover from BWT Taj and the duo wore down early leader I Am Delightful with Sun For All getting the best of BWT Taj to win in 1:57.3.

Plante also guided Doggone Slots to a win, completing a sweep of all three trotting events last night. It was the 21st career win for the former Maryland Sires Stakes Champion by Doggone Yankee who is owned by Gregg Morris and trainer Thomas Morris Jr.

Psychic Blue Chip copped a second straight win for Frank Milby and owners Jeff Clark and Vernon Cannon. Milby also found the winners circle with PL Hoofhearted for Howard Birney and trainer Walter Birney Jr. It was win number 31 for the 8-year old son of Mach Three.

Declan Donoway, a 19-year-old Provisional driver, continues to show the P won’t be next to his name much longer. The youngster had a double last night, rallying Prince Clyde to a win for Michael Assante and Lorenzo De Simone. Derren Ferell trains the 8-year old Camluck gelding.

Donoway also won the finale with Hickory Pandle, scoring a five-length win in 1:55.1

The race of the night was won by Lifetime Trust in the $9,000 mares winners over pace. Driver Jason Thompson found live cover with eventual second-place finisher Lil Miss Gorgeous and won a four-way photo, four-wide on the outside in 1:53.1. The Bettors Delight offspring is owned by Ringler Stable LLC and trained by Richard Ringler.

The Band K remained on fire winning a third straight start for Kayla Moyer and trainer Arlene Cameron. Moyer’s husband, Jared, was at the linesĀ and his good spring meet continues as he picked up his 13th win of the meet.

Captain Cal snapped an 0-10 lifetime streak with a 1:55.4 score for driver Ricky Still and owner-trainer Jerry Nock.

Lima Illusion and been second three times and third once in her last four starts, but that losing streak ended last night with a wire-to-wire score in 1:57.2 for Timmy Offutt, driving for Joe and Karen Offutt.

Owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson piloted his own Always A Blue Sky to his 23rd career victory, tipping three deep off cover to win in 1:56.4.

Trainer-Driver Jeff Stafford won with RX Jolt for the second time in three starts for owner David Stafford in 1:55. It was the 29th career win for the daughter of Village Jolt.
