Precision Blue Chip scores again in Rosecroft Open

Ft. Washington, MD — Precision Blue Chip and the lightning fast stone dust at Rosecroft seem to be a match made in heaven. Monday night (April 5), the 6-year old Bettor’s Delight gelding took his 15th win in the last 12 months and fourth in a row against Open Handicap company at Rosecroft, scoring from post nine in 1:51.2.

Russell Foster guided the winner through fractions of :27, :55.3, and 1:23.4 before sprinting home in :27.3 to hold off pocket sitting Rocktavious (Luke Hanners) and Starship (Jonathan Roberts). Courtney Brooks owns and trains the four-time winner in 2021.

Foster won four races on the night, while John Wagner drove and trained three winners and Roberts won twice.

Ten of the 14 races went under 1:53 with Always B Magic winning in 1:51 for Frank Milby. Roberts drove the 14-year-old Versado to his 67th career win and also saw the veteran of 302 starts get claimed.

Favorites won seven of the 14 races, but the night produced an average win mutuel of $12.72 and handled more than $500,000.

The Pick-5 for Wednesday night starts with a $2,800 carryover. Post time is 7:15 p.m.
