The 3-year-old So Surreal filly worked hard to get the lead through a sizzling :26.2 first quarter over a sloppy track before driver Jimmy Devaux rated a second-quarter breather. After pulling the half back to :56.3, Racine Bell turned it on again, clicking off three-quarters in 1:24.2 and holding strong in the stretch to record her first local Open win in 1:53.2. Bontz (Billy Dobson) came up second best while Alexis Faith (Phil Fluet) earned the show spot.

Dave Dewhurst trains Racine Bell, who has won nine of 22 career starts and earned $280,000, for Chris and Dale Lawton.

Dewhurst and Devaux also teamed up with claiming pacer Pantheon Hanover, who won for the third time in his last four starts.

Live racing at Saratoga resumes on Monday afternoon (Oct. 26) with a 12 noon first post.
