Vivere was a 1:54 winner on Monday for Jim Morand.

Allen trains the 6-year-old Life Sign gelding, who has been on a torrid pace throughout his run of wins, all of which have come at Harrington. His most recent win came in an optional $40,000 claiming event as he set all the fractions from the rail and won by four lengths. His seasonal bankroll is now just shy of $100,000.

He’s the only horse at Harrington this year with eight wins.

Josh Green-trainees won the $19,000 Junior Open features as Larry Baron’s Areyouinorout ($2.80, Tony Morgan, 1:54) and Frank Dettore’s Eagle Real One ($5.80, Jon Roberts, 1:54.2) each were victorious.

The first pick 4 of the meet (5-1-6-1) paid $888 in races five through eight. Pick four wagering will now be offered nightly.

Bowden triples at Plainridge

Marlborough, MA — Driver-trainer Greg Bowden turned it up a notch on Monday at Plainridge Racecourse by posting three wins on the 11-race card.

The former Plainridge driving champion, who hails from Bangor, Maine, drove Navy Sealster across the wire in the day’s fifth race. He was sent off at 12-1. He followed that with a sixth race score with Peripheral Vision with a 1:55.3 mile. He notched his hat trick with a 10th race victory with Rachel’s Rich (11-1) covering the mile in 1:57.

Bowden has raced at Plainridge ever since the track opened 10 years ago, holds a couple of driving championships, is a member of the track’s Wall of Fame, and held the mark for most starts over the track.

Bowden’s driving triple moved him into fifth place among the track’s leading drivers. Jim Hardy’s two wins increased his lead over Mike Eaton for top driving honors to date. Hardy also sports a nifty UDR of .393.
