Shadow Play favored in Delvin Miller Adios

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Shadow Play, who won a Delvin Miller Adios elimination race in a world record time of 1:48.2 on a five-eighths-mile track, has been tabbed as the early morning line favorite for the $350,000 final that will be raced Saturday afternoon, August 9, at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs’ odds maker Jim Beviglia made Shadow Play the 5-2 favorite in the Race for the Orchids. Shadow Play will be leaving from the six post in Saturday’s final. This was the same post the 3-year-old The Panderosa colt had in the elimination race on Friday, August 1. David Miller will be in the bike once again for trainer Mark Ford.
Other horses with posts, odds and drivers include the following: 1-Goddess’s Justin, 4-1 (Mike Wilder), 2-Todd J H Hanover, 10-1 (Yannick Gingras), 3-Major General, 20-1 (Andy Miller), 4-Mystery Chase, 5-1 (Brian Sears), 5-Sand Shooter, 7-2 (Tim Tetrick), 7-Lonestar Legend, 6-1 (Ron Pierce), 8-Dali, 15-1 (John Campbell), and 9-Atochia, 8-1 (Dave Palone).
The Adios will be race 10 on Saturday’s 16-race card and post will be approximately 5:00 p.m.
There will be a 24-hour detention for the nine-horse field with horses going to their respective stalls at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
