Southwind Falcon scores on Wednesday at Saratoga

Saratoga Springs, NY – Vernon Downs invader Southwind Falcon (Conway Hall) has made his presence felt at Saratoga Casino Hotel over the last few weeks and on Wednesday afternoon (Sept 11), the three-year-old trotter prevailed for the third consecutive start. Ron Harp trains and drives Southwind Falcon who took a big jump up in class into Wednesday’s $9,000 co-feature for New York sired trotters.

A strong closer, Southwind Falcon once again came from well off the pace as he made a backstretch blitz heading to three-quarters before circling the field to prevail in 1:58.1. Southwind Falcon’s seventh victory of the year came in mild upset fashion as he paid $10.20 to win.

The other co-features were won by Okay (Conway Hall), who upset at odds of 11-1 for trainer-driver Claude Huckabone Jr., and Lucky June Bug (Lucky Chucky), who made good as his race’s odds-on favorite to extend his win streak to five. Frank Coppola Jr. piloted the Chip Zombick Jr- trained three-year-old to his Wednesday score which was the fastest among the co-feature winners as he romped in 1:57.2.
