Starship wins again at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Starship continued his excellence at Rosecroft, winning for the seventh time in 11 starts in the Megan Roberts Barn, as he took the Sunday night (March 7) feature in 1:52.3.

It was one of four wins on the night for Jonathan Roberts who pushed his meet leading total to 26.

Leaving from post six, Roberts worked out a second over journey behind Jack Quick who chased the pacesetter Fantastic Voyage through a :27.1 third quarter. Roberts decided to duck to the passing lane at that point, and it produced the shorter distance and was enough to outsprint Jack Quick who was a tough luck second, while Vapour N closed from the back for third.

The final clocking was a new mark for the 4-year-old Captaintreacherous gelding who is now 10-for-33 lifetime and gave Roberts a training double.

Jonathan Roberts won races two-four with Caviart Eden, All Gold, and Red Mustang.

Luke Hanners won a pair with Franco for Brian Callahan and claiming star Mosh Pit who won his sixth straight race for Megan Roberts. Ironically, he was sent off as the third choice from post eight, and during his streak he has been the favorite just twice. It was his 42nd career win in 265 starts and he is now 6-for-7 this season.

Tony Morgan had a driving double, winning with Cool Casper and Laser Hanover, producing a training double for Trevor Stafford in the process.

Russell Foster won twice as well, as Costello wired the 10th race field and Rockin Jukebox shook off a break in his season debut last week and put his lifetime earnings over $100,000 with his sixth lifetime win for trainer Megan Foster.
