Stonebridge On Ice continues roll in the Snowshoe

Toronto, ON — Stonebridge On Ice turned in a devastating performance to capture his second straight win in the Snowshoe Pacing Series for 3- and 4-year-old colts, horses, and geldings on Friday night (Jan. 11) at Woodbine Racetrack.

Stonebridge On Ice was a 1:52.2 winner for Mike Saftic.

With Mike Saftic in tow, the gelded son of Camluck-Glacier Express made his move to the front just past the :27.4 first quarter and then cruised the rest of the way on the lead to score by six lengths in 1:52.2. Silver Dragon came on to finish second with Just The Begrining finishing in the show spot.

The clocking was a new lifetime mark for the Gregg McNair trainee who captured his final start of 2007 and now has won three in a row overall for McNair who co-owns along with Saftic and Leonard Gamble.

In the opening split, the 3-year-old gelding Nanuets Z Tam turned in an impressive 1:55.2 victory for driver Phil Hudon which equaled his lifetime record. He turned back Giddy Up Lucky with Fall In Place landing in third position.

It was just the fourth career start for the son of Astreos-Cloudy Day who is trained by Michael Grant for the Z Tam Racing Llc of Nanuet, N.Y.

Stonebridge On Ice will have his chance to sweep the Snowshoe Series next Friday night (Jan. 18) when he competes in the C$45,600 final.
