Trackmaster conditions make debut at Freehold

Freehold, NJ — Freehold Raceway added something new to their condition sheet on Friday (March 29), as for the first time, they scheduled races using the TrackMaster horse rating system.

The races were limited to horses with a TrackMaster rating of 68 or less at time of entry. Two divisions were held: one for trotters, one for filly and mare pacers.

In the trotting division, Aaron Lambert’s Archway made a strong three-wide move and powered home to break his maiden going away. The winner, driven by Jim Marohn Jr., stopped the clock in 1:59.4.

In the filly and mare pacing division, favored Hack Attack wore down Wikedwitchothewest in the last sixteenth of a mile to prevail as the even-money favorite. She’s trained by Danielle Dailey and was driven to victory by Steve Smith.

The Saturday (March 30) card features one TrackMaster race, for male pacers. It is scheduled as the third race, and drew a field of seven.

First post time for the Saturday card is scheduled for 12:30 PM EDT.
