Trotting colt Knockout Lindy tops third session of Lexington Selected Sale

Lexington, KY — Knockout Lindy, Hip No. 477, was the yearling who fetched the most money in the third edition of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

The son of Muscle Hill-Kinda Crazy Lindy was purchased for $172,000 by Ken Jacobs. He was consigned by Preferred Equine and bred by Lindy Farms. The colt is out of a dam that is a half-sibling to Lindyaholic (Chocolatier, $130,582) and Big Man Ev (Chapter Seven, $231,921).

Following Knockout Lindy’s lead was Hip No. 392 Play Fiercely. The son of first crop sire Walner and the talented mare Woman’s Will was purchased by Marcus Melander on behalf of Courant Inc. for $160,000.

Over the course of the last three evenings the sale has been down compared to 2019 which was record-breaking. The 180 yearlings that went through the ring Wednesday generated $6,497,000. The average price of horses sold was $36,094.

The fourth session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale will showcase 170 yearlings. The event commences this evening at 7 p.m. at Fasig-Tipton.
