Downers Grove, IL — Due to the current circumstances in Illinois harness racing and an abnormally low response for banquet tickets, the January 15, 2011 annual meeting of the USTA District 5 (Illinois) is being changed. The dinner and dance portions are cancelled. The Officials School, their luncheon and the annual membership meeting continue.

The annual USTA District 5 membership meeting is now at 1 p.m. (CST) and the Officials School functions are at their originally planned times and locations.

At the end of official business at the membership meeting the annual divisional trophies normally presented by ISOBA at the banquet will be distributed to their respective winners as a courtesy to ISOBA. ISOBA has postponed their annual meeting to a date to be determined in the near future.

The USTA Horse of the Year trophy and the award for the top amateur driver of 2010 will be awarded on a Saturday evening at Balmoral Park in the near future.
