Who’s Who emulates his sire

The 5-year-old Swedish trotter, Who’s Who, who looks identical to his sire, Maharajah, is also copying him at the racetrack. Last year Who’s Who won the Swedish Trotting Derby and on Wednesday (Aug. 14) Who’s Who won the prestigious Jubilee Prize at Solvalla with driver Ôrjan Kihlström in the bike.

Maharajah never raced in the Jubilee Prize, but won another big race, the Prix d’Amerique at Vincennes. That race will be the next big goal for Who’s Who.

In the Jubilee Prize Who’s Who came from behind to win by a neck over Milliondollarrhyme driven by Fredrik B. Larsson and Norton Commander driven by Conrad Lugauer.

They were all timed in 1:54.1 (mile rate) the race was over 1/5-16 miles and had a $100,000 purse.

The European Championship for mares, also raced over 1/5-16 mile, was won by Swiss-owned Uza Josselyn (sired by Love You) driven by Erik Adielsson in 1:53.2 (mile rate). The purse for the winner was $90,000.

The Wallenius Cup for 3-year-old fillies on the undercard ended in a dead heat between U.S.-bred Sasha My Way (sired by Muscle Massive) with Adrian Kolgjjni in the bike and Swedish-bred Dontlooseallmoney (sired by Bold Eagle) with Jim Oscarsson timed in 1:56.

Another 3-year old, Danish-bred, Norwegian-trained and Swedish-owned Ecurie D, driven by Björn Goop, won a mile race with standing start in a new world record of 1:56.1 — the old record was 1:57.1.
