‘100 Years in Harness’ book signing at Harrah’s Chester

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — Nicole Kraft, the author of “100 Years in Harness,” will sign copies of her book this Sunday at Harrah’s Chester from noon to 3 p.m. The book retails for $25, and $5 from each book sold will be donated to the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

“100 Years in Harness” is a photographic journey through the history of harness racing and a first-of-its-kind coffee table book that features images from the archives of the U.S. Trotting Association. It showcases the beauty and historical significance of the sport of harness racing in the U.S. from 1900 through 1999, through the lenses of U.S. Trotting Association photographers. Kraft has captured harness racing’s place in the burgeoning nation with images gleaned from the Association’s photo archives, the most expansive collection of Standardbred photos in the world.

The book is organized in chapters that represent the decades of the 20th Century, and features photos of famous horses and people of the time periods, as well as scenes and circumstances that show harness racing’s place in the growing nation.
