$12,500 guaranteed Pick-5 pool at Pompano

Pompano Beach, FL — A tricky Pick-5 sequence went unsolved on Sunday (March 8) at Pompano Park, resulting in a $2,905 carryover into the Monday (March 9) card. Track officials have guaranteed Monday night’s total pool at $12,500.

The 50 cent Pick-5 is a nightly wager featured on races two–six.

It looked as if fans may have two big carryovers to shoot at on Monday night, after Celebrity Lovenote (57-1) crossed the line first in race eight. The longshot would have triggered a Pick-4 carryover of nearly $8,000, but was disqualified after going inside a pylon around the far turn. Dojea Adventure (17-1) was placed as the winner, and even with the first three winners returning only $6.20, $5.40 and $5.60, the Pick-4 returned a healthy $1,330 for a buck.

The 50 cent Pick-4 continues to feature a $7,500 guaranteed pool every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evening throughout the month of March.

Typically multiple winning tickets cause the Jackpot Hi-Five to carry over from night to night, but that wasn’t the case on Sunday night. No one came close to the winning combination of 5-7-2-4-1, after Fiesta Camcun (Bruce Ranger) pulled off the 14-1 upset to take the finale. The consolation paid out on a 5-7-2-all-all, worth $1,485 for 20 cents. The winning combination would have been worth more than $26,500 if one winning ticket had existed.

The 20 cent Jackpot Hi-Five carryover into Monday night is $24,278.

Live racing continues at the Isle Casino Pompano Park every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening with a first post of 7:30 p.m.
