Reenactment, Gotthegreenlight win Tioga NYSS splits

Nichols, NY — Reenactment and Gotthegreenlight won their respective New York Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday (Aug. 22) at Tioga Downs.

Reenactment (Scott Zeron) took a 1:52.3 lifetime mark in a wild finish to the $53,100 first division.

Patsville (Mark MacDonald) led to the first quarter in :26.4 before yielding to A Girl That Twirls (Dan Dube) with a lap to go. After A Girl That Twirls rated a :56.1 half, Joyride Hanover (Dexter Dunn) advanced first-over up the backstretch and battled for the lead as A Girl That Twirls led to three-quarters in 1:24.

Turning for home, Joyride Hanover wrestled the lead away from A Girl That Twirls, but American Ticket (Yannick Gingras) came three-wide and Reenactment ($35.40) came flying four-wide off cover. When the dust settled, Reenactment just reached in a three-way photo. American Ticket finished secondl Joyride Hanover had to settle for third.

Linda Toscano trains Reenactment, a Huntsville-Living History filly, for Let It Ride Stables, Maurice Chodash and Barry Cohen. It was Reenactment’s second career victory.

Gotthegreenlight (Dexter Dunn) popped the pocket to get win in the $53,100 second division.

Gotthegreenlight ($6.90) jumped right to the front and led to the first quarter in :28. Just Divine (Yannick Gingras) brushed to the lead with a circuit to go, and was first to the half in :56.4. Hamptons Babe (Jason Bartlett) came first-up to challenge heading to the final turn, but Just Divine maintained the lead to three-quarters in 1:25.4.

While Just Divine shook off Hamptons Babe as they reached the stretch, but Gotthegreenlight found an opening in deep stretch and popped the pocket to get up just in time to win in 1:53. Just Divine had to settle for second; Throw The Dice (Scott Zeron) was third best.

Richard “Nifty” Normal trains Gotthegreenlight, an American Ideal-Bet On Luck filly with five wins in six career starts, for owners Patricia Stable and Kovach Stables.
