Yonkers, NY – New York State Legislators will battle for “power positions” and bragging rights at Yonkers Raceway as Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts and the Standardbred Owners Association host the Annual Legislative Pace on Tuesday (Sept. 12). The event consists of four before-the-card non-wagering harness races. Each of the races consists of two laps around Yonker Raceway’s historic one-half-mile oval, with legislators holding the reins in double-seated jog carts. Professional harness drivers will be seated next to each race participant to ensure safety.

In the 2022 Legislative Pace, the first win of the night went to Senator Joe Addabbo Jr. (D-Queens). In the second race, Senator Jamaal Bailey (D-Bronx) took first place, and the third race had repeat Legislative Pace winner Assembly Racing and Gaming Chair Gary Pretlow (D-Westchester) defending his title for the seventh time. The final race of the night was won by Yonkers’ own State Senator Shelley Mayer (D-Westchester).

Following the Pace, participating elected officials, Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts and SOANY executives will be available for interviews from the Winner’s Cir,cle.
