Anderson, IN — Stall applications are now available for the 2009 Standardbred racing season at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino. The 2009 harness racing season begins Tuesday, March 24 and runs through Saturday, July 11.

Stall applications were mailed to trainers who previously raced and stabled at Hoosier Park. All other trainers are encouraged to go to Hoosier Park’s Web site at www.hoosierpark.com for an electronic copy of the form.

All applications are due back to Hoosier Park’s Standardbred Racing Secretary Gregg Keidel by Monday, Jan. 26. Stall allotments will be announced Monday, Feb. 16.

The 80-day harness racing season will offer a new schedule in 2009, racing Tuesday through Saturday. Post times will be 4:45 p.m. with a 12:45 p.m. post Saturday.

The marquee events at Hoosier Park include the $500,000 (est.) Hoosier Cup on Saturday, May 30 and the $200,000 Dan Patch Invitational Pace on Saturday, June 20. Also, the track will offer a special program featuring the Indiana Sires Stakes finals on Saturday, July 11, where purses will reach the $1 million mark.
