2022 Kentucky Sire Stakes, Kentucky Proud and Early Closers race conditions released

Lexington, KY — With the 2022 Kentucky racing season approaching, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission released race conditions for all 2022 programs.

“The expanded program announcements made last fall around the yearling sales continue to be the talk within the industry. A lot of hard work has been put into growing the Kentucky circuit and it’s exciting to see the growth and what is ahead of us in 2022,” says Bob Brady, Kentucky Harness Association President.

The highlights of the program include:

Championship Series
• 4 Legs ($80,000 each)
• $400K Finals

Commonwealth Series
• 4 Legs ($30,000 each)
• $100K Finals

Kentucky Proud Series
• $50K Finals
• Purses increased based on entries ($1,500/entry)(trailer bonus eliminated)
• New Fair for Hopkinsville (raced at Oak Grove)

New Programs

Oak Grove Early Sires Stakes program (for 2- and 3-year-old Kentucky breds)
• 2 Legs ($25,000 each)
• $100K Final
• $25,000 Consolation

Oak Grove 4YO Series (all divisions)
• 4 Legs ($50,000 each)
• $150K Final

Golden Rod Series (New for 2022)
• 4 Legs ($15,000 each)
• $50K Finals

Corbin Early Closers & Maturity

2022 Early Closers at ECL Corbin (2- and 3-year-olds)
• 1 Leg ($30,000 each)
• $70K Finals

2022 Maturity Series (4-year-olds) at ECL Corbin:
• 1 Leg ($35,000 each)
• $70K Finals
