Anderson, IN — With a carry-over of $15,673, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has announced a $40,000 Guaranteed Hoosier High-5 pool for Tuesday (Oct. 24) at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino. In partnership with the Unites States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering program and the Indiana Standardbred Association, Hoosier Park will offer this signature wager for the action packed 14-race card on Tuesday that is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
In the last race of the evening, Rock N Tony sat the pocket and exploded past his rivals to pull the 28-1 upset in the final Breeders Crown elimination of the evening for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings. Scoring in 1:50.2, Rock N Tony held off a late surge from Blood Line and Mark Macdonald who were sent off at odds of 41-1. Beckham’s Z Tam and Ricky Macomber Jr. rallied well to finish third at 45-1.
The Hoosier High-5, also known as the pentafecta, is featured in the last race of every program at Hoosier Park and features a reduced takeout of 12 percent. The Hoosier High-5 was approved and added to the wagering menu at the beginning of the 2016 harness racing season and has been well received by the betting public. The Hoosier High-5 is responsible for the season’s biggest payout to date in 2017 with a $23,540.26 winning ticket paid out in early May.
Saturday’s 14-race card wrapped up a successful weekend of Breeders Crown eliminations. The $6 million Breeders Crown finals will be hosted at Hoosier Park on Friday (Oct. 27) and Oct. 28.The first race on both Breeders Crown evenings will take place at an adjusted post time of 6:00 p.m. EDT.
