Sean Bier’s driving grand slam at Rosecroft nets a big night for trainer Joe Eisenhower Sr.

Ft. Washington, MD — Driver Sean Bier posted four wins on Rosecroft’s Wednesday night (March 11) card, and three of those came for trainer Joe Eisenhower Sr.

Ten-year-old Ashes Cash ($7.60) trotted to a second straight win at Rosecroft for Bier, Eisernhower and owner Spencer Goldin. It was career win number 40 for the son of Cash Hall who now has lifetime earnings of $315,495.

Runaround Sue ($3.80), who just missed at Freehold last time out, and was 2-89 lifetime, smoked the race five field by 5-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3 for Bier and Eisenhower who took over training duties from owner Philip Jasper.

Bier’s third win of the night came with Heidi Van Vliet’s trotter Donato’s Wish ($5.20) in 1:59.4, and then Bier polished off his night winning the finale with Ashley Page’s Queen Kendall ($2.20) who scored a rout in 1:53.3, giving Eisenhower his third win of the night.

Jonathan Roberts netted three wins on the night. Roberts won with Jody Cahall’s Headsaregonna Turn in 1:56.3. Trevor Stafford trains the trotter who won for the 34th time in his career with earnings of $336,460. Roberts also won with Fred Hertrich III’s Silk Beach in 1:56.4. It was the first lifetime win in five starts for the 3-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere and trainer Mike Hall. His final tally came with Ghosttothepost ($3.60) for Peter Paul Venturini and trainer Brian Malone in a time of 1:54.1.

Roger Plante had a driving double, scoring a $12,000 Mares Open Handicap win for trainer Phyllis Copeland with Arts And Flowers. Arts And Flowers, the 5-2 favorite, got away last from post eight, but brushed four-wide heading into the final turn to complete the sweep of the field in 1:53.4. Linda Schwaid and Era Williams own the winner. Plante also scored with Copeland’s Quinton Blue Chip ($2.40) in 1:55.

Driver Mark Gray continued to light the lamps on the board. After two big pari-mutuel scores Sunday, he won with his own trotter I Am Delightful at 13-1 in 1:58.4.
