Freshman Pacers featured in Kentucky Sire Stakes at The Red Mile

Lexington, KY – Day two of Kentucky Sire Stakes action took place this afternoon (Aug. 17) at The Red Mile, this time for 2-year-old pacers.

Blue Diamond Eyes and driver David Miller started the day off with a narrow win over Lindy At The Beach in 1:51.2 in the first division for fillies. The daughter of Captaintreacherous-Aria Hanover is owned by Thomas & Scott Dillion and trained by Ron Burke.

The other division for the filly pacers saw Making Waves blow past her rivals to earn her first lifetime win in 1:51.3. The filly by Captaintreacherous-Trim Hanover is owned by Brittany Farms LLC, trained by Linda Toscano and was driven by Scott Zeron.

The first division for the colt and gelding pacers was taken by an 181-1 long shot, Native’s Filou. The gelding by Allamerican Native-Windsong Filou scored his first lifetime win in an impressive time of 1:51. He is owned by Anette Karin Lorentzon, trained by Christi Noble and was driven by Dan Noble.

The final division for colt and gelding pacers was won by the undefeated Perfect Sting. The speedy son of first crop sire Always B Miki and out of Shebestingin set a national season’s record, stopping the clock in 1:50.4 for driver David Miller. He is owned by Brittany Farms LLC and Val D’Or Farms and is trained by Joe Holloway.

Next up in Sire Stakes action will be the 3-year-old trotters on Tuesday (Aug. 18) at the Red Mile with a first post of 1:00 p.m.
