Russell Foster left aggressively with the 5-year-old Muscle Massive gelding, and the pair forced Morairtime and Gillie The Kid — who also left — to tuck on the first turn while Spee Club kept the pocket closed through a :28 first quarter and a rated :57.4 half. Up the backstretch, Jack Parker Jr. wheeled Morairtime out of third to pursue the pacesetter, with Gillie The Kid following second-over and mounting a three-wide brush nearing three-quarters in 1:25.3. Northern Express held his ground and won convincingly by 1-1/4 lengths for owner-trainer Arty Foster Jr. Morairtime picked up second; Bluebird Jesse (Tim Tetrick) closed widest of all for third.
Tim Tetrick won four races on the card.
