Face Time Bourbon wins the draw for the Prix de France

Face Time Bourbon, who recently won the Prix d’Amerique, is favored to win the Prix de France at Vincennes on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 14).

The Prix de France is the second-highest priced trotting race during the Winter meeting at Vincennes with a total purse of 400,000 Euros — or $485,000.

Only nine trotters were entered to race and when the draw took place Thursday at noon on public television, Face Time Bourbon was assigned to post position two, while the defending champion, Davidson du Pont, drew post position eight.

The distance is 2,100 meters or 1-5/16th miles and the race record is from 2007 when Kool du Caux won in 1:52.2 (mile rate).

Last year Davidson du Pont won the race in 1:54.2 (mile rate) beating Face Time Bourbon.

Team Snyders’ 5-year-old Aetos Kronos, who will have Franck Nivard in the bike, got the outside post nine.
