Morgan’s intuition pays off in the Mares Open pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday

Dover, DE – Shes Pukka N makes it two in a row after her in the Mares Open pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday (March 3) night.

Shes Pukka N and driver Tony Morgan left alertly as did Anytime N and Soho Burning Love A. They were both parked to the quarter. Morgan then released Anytime N to the quarter in :26.3. Soho Burning Love A, normally a closer, was parked to the quarter and finally cleared for the lead at the half in :54. Anytime N respectfully took back to second.

Soho Burning A was in full flight as Skateboard Chic and Alan Davis grinded first up. They reached the three-quarters in 1:22 flat. In the stretch, Anytime N and Montrell Teague chose to ease out of the pocket.

Tony Morgan and Shes Pukka N chose to remain on the rail from third. Morgan’s intuition proved to be the winning strategy as Shes Pukka N won by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.2. She paid $11.20 to win.

Shes Pukka N (Betterthancheddar) is owned by Peter Paul Venturini and trained by Brian Malone. Anytime N raced well and finished second for trainer Josh Green and was driven by Montrell Teague.

Soho Burning Love A, the 3/5 betting favorite, was 3rd for trainer Jim King Jr. with Tim Tetrick was in the bike.
Tony Morgan and Tim Tetrick each won three races on the betting card.

Racing resumes on Thursday (March 4) at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
