Bolt Of Beauty wins Fillies and Mares Open at Tioga

Nichols, NY — Bolt Of Beauty (Marcus Miller) charged late to capture the $9,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 26). Wally Hennessey won four races on the card.

Miss Irish Rose A (Larry Stalbaum) darted to the front and led to the first quarter in :26 and she went :28.2 in the second quarter to hit the half first in :54.2. American Delight N (Hennessey) made the first move heading for the last turn. Miss Irish Rose A led to three-quarters in 1:22.1.

As they made the turn for home American Delight N took over the lead. Bolt Of Beauty ($8.50) went three-wide down the stretch and motored right on by to win easily in a lifetime best of 1:51. American Delight N held on for second and Talk Show Chica (Corey Braden) came up to finish third.

Bolt Of Beauty is a 4-year-old mare by Bolt The Duer. She is owned by Sara Miller, Tanah Merah Farms and trainer Erv Miller. It was her third straight Open win at Tioga. She has five wins this season and 12 career victories.

Hennessey got his wins with Prairie Gold Mine ($5.30), Persistent Bettor ($3.10), Lyons Johnny ($6.70), and Landry Seelster ($5.30).

Mike Merton drove three winners on the card. He was first with Oreo Dream Xtreme ($11.20), Delightful Trysta ($11.40), and Watchwhatmyfeetdo ($10.40).

Erv Miller trained two winners on the card. He once again teamed up with Marcus Miller to get his other win with Cheers For Chips ($3.40).
