Onspeed N leads Chartrand training double

Saratoga Springs, NY — Onspeed N’s 1:54 win in Tuesday’s (July 27) $10,000 feature for fillies and mares at Saratoga Casino Hotel was half of a training double for Alek Chartrand.

Just two weeks removed from a career-best 1:53.4 win, 3-5 favorite Onspeed N and driver Wally Hennessey claimed the lead from early pacesetter All Speed Rising (Billy Dobson) approaching the quarter pole. Once on the lead, the 7-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight didn’t face much of a challenge before pacing away from her rivals. All Speed Rising finished second from the pocket, while Pammy Jo (Mark Beckwith) closed sharply for third.

Michael Moore, who owns Onspeed N, also teamed up with Chartrand to win with Special Olivia, a 3-year-old Roll With Joe filly who put in a big effort to score in a career best 1:55.2 with leading driver Jimmy Devaux in the sulky.

Hennessey and Devaux piloted four winners apiece on the card.

Live racing at Saratoga resumes on Saturday evening (July 31) with a 6:45 p.m. first post.
