Coming into the day on a four-race winning streak, Nifty Norman trainee Gotthegreenlight wound up as the 1-5 favorite in the $71,600 first division. The daughter of American Ideal made a big first-over push, but was upended by rival Hamptons Babe, who surged in the passing line to break her maiden with a 1:53.4 score. Gotthegreenlight settled for second best while pacesetter Wine N Dine Me finished third.

Jason Bartlett drove Hamptons Babe, a daughter of American Ideal and Anndrovette who finished second in her first two Sire Stakes tries before winning at Saratoga, is trained by Tony Alagna for Crawford Farms Racing.

While the 1-5 favorite came up second best in the first division, prohibitive 1-9 choice Just Divine thrived in the $72,900 second division. The daughter of Huntsville and Divine Caroline won both of her previous Sire Stakes starts and was well positioned for a stakes hat trick, having drawn post three. Matt Kakaley moved the Ron Burke trainee to the lead in the early stages, and she powered away under wraps to a decisive 1:55 victory for owners Bill Donovan, Joe Sbrocco, Craig Henderson, and Purnel & Libby LLC. A Girl That Twirls closed sharply to be second while Symphony Girl earned the show spot.

Live racing at Saratoga resumes on Saturday evening (Aug. 14), with first post time set for 6:45 p.m.
