Columbus, OH — Evelyn Garofalo, 77, died July 28, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Carl, who passed away only eight days earlier on July 20, 2021.

She loved her husband Carl and her family more than anything that life had to offer. She and Carl loved traveling, especially cruising, going to the races to watch their horses, and horses that her son and one of her other “sons,” John McDermott raced. She also loved going to the casino with her husband. Her extreme love for her family will be forever missed.

She is survived by her children, owner/trainer/driver Carl, Debra (Jerold) Kaminsky, and Bill (Michele); daughter-in-law, JoAnn; grandchildren, Ron (Blair) Pope, Valeri (Ruben) Gonzalez, John Pope (fiancé Taylor Smith), Carl, Amanda and Billy; great-grandchildren, Arianna Gonzalez, Caden Gonzalez, Kyler Gonzalez and Francesca (Frankie) Pope; sister-in-law, Josephine DeLuca; and brother-in-law, Gary. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Carchia, and his wife, Ethel.
