Monticello, NY — The GSY series amateur drivers were back at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday (Aug. 24) for one final time before taking their tour back to The Meadowlands next month and once again, Dave Yarock finished on top.

Yarock sprung his pacer to the lead and Sammy B Happy never had an anxious moment. He bottomed out the field with a swift :28 third quarter and ended up on cruise control in the lane to win by three lengths. The outer flow never developed or got close to the leader. Mr Mcdreamy(Chris Petrelli) dug in gamely to get up for second and Glamorgal (Monica Eriksen) rounded out the trifecta.

Even after winning two weeks in a row, the Monticello faithful didn’t make Yarock the favorite and to the delight of his backers he paid a handsome $7.50 to win. The mile went in 1:57.3.

Sammy B Happy is a 7-year-old gelding sired by American Ideal, out of the mare Shania Twain, and is trained by Dawn Devaux and owned by Yarock.
