Don’tcallmefrancis rolls to 14th victory this year; Palone wins five

Washington, PA – Don’tcallmefrancis zipped to the lead from post six and never had an anxious moment as he rolled to his 14th victory this year in Saturday’s (Aug. 28) feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 Claiming Handicap Pace.

Dave Palone drove Don’tcallmefrancis to one of his five victories in Saturday’s feature at The Meadows. Chris Gooden Photos.

Once Dave Palone gave the Rocknroll Hanover-Nanny Withafanny gelding a :29.3 second-panel breather, there was no catching him. He drew off late to defeat the rallying Cinnamack by six lengths in 1:51.3, with Sweet Beach third.

Jason Seymour owns and trains the winner, who extended his lifetime bankroll to $509,076.

Palone collected five wins and trainer Jason Robinson four on the 12-race card. Aaron Merriman and Seymour also enjoyed big days, with three victories apiece.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday (Sept. 1) when the 13-race program features a $48,563.83 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
