Wilkes-Barre, PA – The co-featured $11,200 trots at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono Monday (Aug. 30) afternoon both resulted in 1:53.4 clockings, so we will defer to seniority in listing the winners’ accomplishments.

TSM Photo Bugger shows plenty of fight left in his 14-year-old body to win in 1:53.4 at Pocono Monday. Curtis Salonick photo.

14-year-old TSM Photo Bugger made the lead, yielded for the pocket to sit behind a hot pace (:28, :56, 1:24), then came out in the stretch to catch odds-on pacesetter MacMorris Hanover by a neck. It was the 61st career victory for the S J’s Photo gelding, a winner of $868,681, who was driven by Fern Paquet Jr. for trainer Karen Fread and owner Theodore Tomson.

In the other section, Kevin Wallis was able to keep the Donato Hanover gelding Just Maybe The One’s mind to business, and the trotter responded with a three length victory over favored Blenheim after leading at every call. A pair of $15,300 featured events on the Tuesday (Aug. 31) 12:30 p.m. card will find Katkin Morgan going for his third straight win as the favorite in the trot and Stellar BB looking to take a fifth win in six starts on the pacing side.

When racing comes back on Saturday (Sept. 4) at 12:30 p.m., there will be the four $253,000 Championship events for Pennsylvania Sire Stakes three-year-olds, plus Hambletonian winner Captain Corey, the 2020 divisional champ, racing in his consolation event.
