Stallion share in Face Time Bourbon tops Prix d’Amerique sale

The highest price at the annual Prix d’Amerique sale, for the second year held in Deauville instead of Vincennes, was 170,000 Euros ($190,000) for a stallion share in Face Time Bourbon.

The share allows one breeding each year in France, where a stallion is limited to 100 mares a year.

Face Time Bourbon was the heavy favorite to take a third victory in the Prix d’Amerique Sunday afternoon, but a problem in his left front hoof caused the decision to end his fantastic career.

Face Time Bourbon raced 43 times and he won 35 races — from which 17 were Group 1 races. He won the Prix d’Amerique twice and has the race record of 1:54 (mile rate). He has earnings of 3,392,880 Euros.

Face Time Bourbon has been at stud and his first crop will hit the racetracks this summer.

Back to the Prix d’Amerique sale, where the broodmare Cere Josselyn (she by Kaisy Dream), in foal to Ready Cash, was sold for 130,000 Euros to Danish Panamera Racing. That was the highest price for a horse at the sale.

The average price came to 20,546 Euros, up 3.5 percent from last year.
