Bazire has new star

Vincennes, FR — Jean Michel Bazire, who has no less than four trotters in the Prix d’Amerique Sunday afternoon (Jan. 30), has several other top trotters in his stable, but they are geldings and thus not qualified to race in the Group 1-races as Prix d’Amerique in France.

One of those geldings is the 8-year-old Elie de Beaufour, who Jean Michel Bazire guided to an easy victory in the Prix du Luxembourg Saturday afternoon at Vincennes.

Elie de Beaufour won in a new race record of 1.53.2 (mile rate) and this was win number 25 from just 35 races.

Elie de Beaufour, sired by Royal Dream, picked up the winner’s purse of 45.000 Euro.

On the same card two Group 2-races for 3-year-old trotters were raced.

The filly division saw a very easy winner in Jazzy Perrine trained by Tomas Malmqvist and with Eric Raffin in the bike.

Jazzy Perrine, who got 54,000 Euro for the win, is sired by Django Riff, he by Ready Cash.

The colt division was also won by a grandson to Ready Cash, Italian-bred Deus Zack trained by Sebastian Guarato and with Matthieu Abrivard in the bike.

Deus Zack is sired by Victor Gio, who raced in the United States and took a mark of 1:51, and is now at stud in Sweden.
