Yanks Dugout landed in seventh from his assigned outside post while Northern Express circled three-wide to clear Morairtime and Quiksilvr Bluechip just beyond a contested :26.4 opening quarter. Stueben Hanover began a first-over advance out of fifth with a lap to go, and Tony Morgan angled Yanks Dugout second-over to shadow live cover through middle splits of :56.1 and 1:25.2. At the top of the stretch, Yanks Dugout launched a late brush off cover and nabbed Northern Express by a neck to win in 1:54.3. Quiksilvr Bluechip lunged out of traffic to just miss the top pair.

Ron Burke trains Yanks Dugout, a 5-year-old Triumphant Caviar gelding who paid $7.60 to win, for Ivan and Duke Sugg.

Morgan and Tim Tetrick won three races each on the card.

Scuola Hanover, Shes Pukka N and Soho Burning Love A will square off in the $25,000 Mares Open Pace, carded as the 12th race on Wednesday night’s (Feb. 2) program. First post is 4:30 p.m.
