Torrin Hanover rolls to 5-3/4 length rout in Meadows top pace

Washington, PA – Torrin Hanover won a three-ply battle for the early lead and kept right on boogying, rolling to an eye-popping 5-3/4-length victory in Friday’s (Feb. 18) $16,000 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The 7-year-old Well Said-Transference gelding off clicked off quarters of :27.1/:28.2/:27.1/:28.4 for Hunter Myers to score in 1:51.3 over a “good” surface for his third win in five starts this year. Prince Of Tides and Carolina Beach completed the ticket.

Paul Corey trains Torrin Hanover, who lifted his lifetime bankroll to $350,829, for Kenneth Ashba.

Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday (Feb. 23) when the program features a pair of carryovers — $9,814.17 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $9,146.68 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
