Eddie Miller, Dontyousayit win GLADA trot

Northfield, OH — Dontyousayit and Eddie Miller lived up to favored billing in Sunday night’s (March 20) $7,500 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association trotting event at MGM Northfield Park, prevailing by a neck in 1:56.3.

Fingals Wave and Don Sherman worked to the lead amid a four-horse tussle, clearing for control after a :28 first quarter. But once on the lead, Fingals Wave was forced to contend with Golden Genes (Tyler Angus), who forced middle fractions of :56.4 and 1:26.2 while Miller waited behind the leaders with Dontyousayit. Miller found daylight in deep stretch, surging to the lead and nabbing Fingals Wave by a neck. Golden Genes, after being parked the entire mile, salvaged third, finishing two lengths farther back.

Trainer Duke Sugg co-owns Dontyousayit, a 5-year-old Dontyouforgetit gelding who paid $4.60 to win, with Ivan Sugg.
